Northumberland OPP – Trailers Being Targeted in Trent Hills

In Police Blotter

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has received reports of attempted thefts of trailers in the Municipality of Trent Hills.

Since February 11, 2019 police have investigated four reports of trailers that attempted to be stolen from various locations in the Trent Hills area. In all cases the locking mechanisms attached to the trailers were compromised but due to various circumstances the trailers were unable to be towed by the suspect(s).

On March 6, 2019 a utility trailer was reported stolen during the overnight hours from High Street in Campbellford. The trailer was located the following day with all the tools that were stored within it removed.

The Northumberland OPP is asking for the public’s assistance with these ongoing investigations and would ask that anyone with information to call their nearest OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call the Peterborough/Northumberland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). You can also submit information online at www.stopcrimehere.ca.
