Bringing The Cobourg Library To You – Free of Charge

In Community

Cobourg Library Community Engagement Assistant Rachel Spence hands books over to Administrative Coordinator Jocelyn Gard on Friday, March 1, 2019.

The Cobourg Library is bringing the library to you – almost.
A program is being offered to homebound members of our community. If you or someone you know is unable to get to the Library due to a serious, ongoing physical restriction, the library have volunteers who generously offer their time to deliver materials up to twice a month.
Volunteers are chosen based on whether you would like a male or female attending your home.
The library ensures they have a vulnerable sector police check done in advance of attending your home.
All volunteers have their driver’s license and are able to bring a variety of resources including magazines, paperbacks, hard cover, talking books (audiobooks), large print, graphic novels, dvd’s, blu-rays and cd’s.
Volunteers are not permitted to provide any further services aside from delivering and returning library resources.
The program is free and works to ensure that no senior is left feeling isolated from our services. If you’re interested in our program, please reach out to Rachel Spence at rspence@cobourg.library.on.ca or 905-372-9271 x: 6240.
