Durham Police – Male Arrested After Stabbing His Brother in Whitby

A 27-year-old Whitby male has been arrested after stabbing his 28-year-old brother at a residence in Whitby.

On Thursday, January 17, 2019, at approximately 8:50 p.m. members of Central West Division responded to a residence in the area of Garrard Street and Rossland Road in Whitby for a domestic-related incident. Officers located a 28-year-old male who had serious head injuries after being struck with a machete. The male suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to a Toronto-area trauma center.

His brother was arrested and facing numerous charges.

A 27-year-old male from Whitby is charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
