Domestic Assault
A 24 year old man remains in custody after Port Hope Police responded to a domestic disturbance incident on the 30th of December 2018. Shortly after 4pm Police arrived at the scene and received information about an altercation between the man and a woman described as his girlfriend. The altercation became physical when the man allegedly assaulted the woman. Police located the man outside of the residence in central Port Hope. He is charged with assault level 1, Breach of Probation and failing to comply with a condition of a recognizance. No names will be released to protect the identity of the victim.

Kijiji Fraud
A Port Hope woman fell victim to a kijiji fraud after she purchased what she thought was a “Reborn Baby Doll”. The ad was noticed by the woman on the 12th of December and she answered it. She ended up e-transferring $120.00 dollars with the expectation the doll would be shipped. The woman then heard about similar frauds taken place and relegalized she was duped when she looked into the matter further. Police are continuing the investigation.

Mischief
A Port Hope woman reported damage to three inflatable Christmas lawn decorations. Someone went on the woman’s property located in the Crossley Road and Centennial Street area and slashed 3 of her inflatable decorations between the 26 and 28 of December 2018. Anyone with information is asked to call Port Hope Police or email phps@phps.on.ca.
