Quinte West OPP – Drug Interdiction Stop

On December 20, 2018, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) along with the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted a vehicle interdiction stop in the City of Quinte West targeting the sale and distribution of illicit drugs into the community.
Doug MCGREGOR, aged 37 from Brighton (ON) and William GOHEEN, aged 57 of Brighton (ON) were both arrested and jointly charged with:
Possession of a substance in Schedule 1 (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking- contrary to S.5(2) to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (C.D.S.A)
McGregor was also charged with:
Possession of a substance in Schedule 1 (Hydromorphone) for the purpose of trafficking- C.D.S.A. S.5(2)
Possession of a substance in Schedule 1 (Oxycodone) for the purpose of trafficking- C.D.S.A. S.5(2)
Possession of property obtained by crime in Canada under 5000$ – contrary to S.354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
Assault with intent to resist arrest – CC S.270(1)(b) CC
Fail to comply with recognizance (x3 Counts) – CC S.145(3) CC
In addition to the charges police seized cocaine, hydromorphone, oxycodone and Canadian currency.
MCGREGOR was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located at 15 Bridge Street West in the city of Belleville on December 20, 2018.
GOHEEN was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in the city of Belleville on January 28, 2019.
