Holly Jolly Christmas at Northumberland Chorus Christmas Tea and Show Fundraiser

In Upcoming Events

It may seem a little early to think about blowing snow and Christmas Carols but here at the Columbus Centre on Monday nights the Northumberland Chorus has been preparing to ‘rock the night away’ on November 17th at their annual Christmas Tea and Show Fundraiser. It’s a tradition that the chorus ladies look forward to every year – inviting the community to join in the festivities to welcome this jolly season in song.

This fall the group saw quite a few new women sign up to join them for their ninth annual “Christmas Chorus Program”. It’s a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys music to learn to sing four songs in four-part harmony and then to experience performing a cappella in front of an audience.

The Northumberland Chorus always takes pleasure in supporting local talent and this year they have invited the Merwin Greer School Choir to perform for you. All proceeds from this event help support vocal education through this annual Christmas Chorus Program as well as workshops for Young Women in Harmony.

Now they would like to extend the invitation for the public to come out Saturday, November 17th and enjoy an evening of Christmas treats and carols with them. Get your Christmas Season off to a great start with the Northumberland Chorus, Christmas Chorus and Merwin School Choir.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door and can be purchased from any chorus member or by email northumberlandchorus1@gmail.com. The last two years have been a sold-out concert so you are strongly encouraged to buy your tickets early to avoid being disappointed. The event takes place at the Grace Christian Reformed Church, 440 King St. E., Cobourg, Saturday, November 17th. Doors open at 6:15, tea will be served at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:30 in the Sanctuary.
