Northumberland OPP – Suspicious Person

In Police Blotter

On Monday October 29, 2018 members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a suspicious male on Hoskin Road in Alnwick-Haldimand Township.

An adult waiting near a Hoskin Road bus stop with several children at approximately 8:45 am, reported that a white passenger van with a black stripe down the side of it stopped nearby. The male driver advised the adult that the children had missed the school bus, and he offered to give the children a ride to school. When the adult waiting with the children declined the offer, the van left.

The driver of the van was described as being approximately 50 years of age, with dark, short hair and a dark goatee. He was wearing glasses and a black ski jacket.

The OPP would like to locate and speak to the driver of the van. If you have information regarding this incident or the involved motor vehicle please contact your nearest OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122.

The OPP reminds all members of the pubic to be aware of their personal safety, and that of children, at all times.
