Peterborough Police – Man Charged Possession For Purpose of Trafficking Marijuana

A 27-year-old Peterborough man is facing drug charges including possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking following an investigation.

As a result of an ongoing investigation, on October 11, 2018 members of the Peterborough Police Service’s Intelligence, Crime Analyst, Asset Forfeiture and Drug (ICAD) Unit conducted a stop of the accused in the area of Brock and Water Streets.

As a result of the investigation the accused was found to be in possession of a large quantity of marijuana, digital scales and a large quantity of Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation Sean Peter Wickert, 27, of no fixed address, Peterborough, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking (Marijuana under 3 kg).
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

As a result of the investigation police seized the following:

  • 119 grams of marijuana
  • Three digital scales
  • Approximately $1,505 Canadian currency
  • Pellet gun

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (Oct. 12).
