Napanee, Loyalist and Kaladar OPP – Pedestrian Struck on Highway 401

(Loyalist Twsp) – On the first of September at 05:59hrs officers with the Napanee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 401 east bound east of Switzerville Road.

When officers arrived on scene it was determined a parked vehicle was struck on the shoulder of Highway 401 by oncoming traffic. The pedestrian was the owner of the parked vehicle and was standing on the shoulder of the highway outside of his vehicle when he was struck. Paul ALLISON a 76 year old male from Brampton was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation into this fatal collision is ongoing and information will be released as it becomes available.<
