From the 14th day of May, 2018 through the 20th day of May, 2018 the Cobourg Police Service responded to 214 occurrences including; 39 Community Service calls, 10 Police Assistance calls, 1 Traffic Complaints, 3 Fraud calls, 11 Suspicious Person calls, 4 Police Information calls, 16 Property Related calls, 8 Assault calls, 3 Break and Enter Calls, 2 – 911 calls, 6 Theft calls, 12 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 3 Liquor License Act calls, 8 Alarm calls, 4 Harassment calls, 3 Disturb the Peace calls, 3 Threats calls, 4 Noise complaints, 4 Domestic Dispute call, 5 Family Dispute call, 6 Attempt or Threat of Suicide, 2 Mischief calls, 1 weapons. Some examples of calls for service this week include;

Monday, June 18, 2018:

Police responded to a local business at approximately 8:00pm in regard to a shoplifter. A male party was arrested. Items stolen valued at $16.00. The male party was trespassed from the property and issued a Provincial Offences Notice.

At approximately 9:00 pm Police responded to an east end business after receiving a report of an unwanted male in the area. Police attended, located and spoke with the involved male, who agreed to leave the area without further incident.

Police responded to a west end address after receiving a report of two unknown persons dressed in black clothing, observed shinning flash lights into a residence. No further description provided. Police conducted an extensive search of the area but were unable to locate any person(s) matching the description provided. All appeared in order.

Tuesday, June 19, 2018:

Police responded to an east end business at approximately 12:00 pm in regard to an unwanted person in the premise. Upon arrival Police were notified the involved party had left the area after being directed to do so. Police conducted an extensive search of the area but were unable to locate the involved party.

At approximately 2:00pm Officers were dispatched to an east end address after receiving a report of a group of an estimated 100 youth in the area. The initial complainant reportedly had observed a fight in progress. Officers attended the area and an extensive search was completed. Officers were not approached by any person wishing to report an assault and no person was located in need of medical assistance.

Police conducted a traffic stop in the east end of Cobourg. As a result of a subsequent Police investigation, 4.2 grams of marijuana was seized from the motor vehicle. The involved party was issued a Provincial Offences Notice and released without further incident.

Wednesday, June 20, 2018

Police responded to a west end residence at approximately 3:30pm, after receiving a report of a break and enter in progress. Upon arrival Police located a male and female in the backyard of the residence, both were subsequently detained. As a result of Police investigation both parties were arrested and charged for the offence of break and enter, both involved parties were released on a Promise to Appear.

Police attended a local business at approximately 10:30pm in regard to a complaint of a female party who appeared to be extremely intoxicated. Police located the female who was subsequently transported by paramedics to Northumberland Hills Hospital for medical treatment.

Police investigated a report of an intrusion alarm at local business located in the west end of Cobourg at approximately 11:50 pm. Officers attended and located multiple insecure doors. An extensive search of the building was completed and everything appeared to be in order.

Thursday, June 21, 2018

Police on patrol in the area of the downtown core observed a motor vehicle with what appeared to be a baby stroller wedged under the front tire. Police investigation determined no child or person was injured as a result of the incident. The driver of the motor left the area without incident after it was determined no accident had occurred.

At approximately 4:00pm Officers responded to the Northumberland County Court building after being dispatched to alarm. Officers conducted a search of the building and deemed the alarm to have been false, everything appeared in order.

At approximately 9:00pm Police responded to a local business in the downtown core after receiving a complaint of an intoxicated male in the area. Police located the male, who was subsequently arrested under the Liquor License Act for being intoxicated in a public place. The male was issued a Provincial Offences Notice for being intoxicated in a public place, and held in Police custody until sober.

Friday, June 22, 2018

At approximately 2:30pm Officers were dispatched an address in the downtown core after receiving a report of a fight in progress. The caller reported that prior to Police arrival the two involved males had left the area on foot. Officers attended, but were unable to locate either involved male.

Police responded to a west end address after receiving a report of a bonfire observed on Town of Cobourg property. Police searched the area and it was determined the fire had been extinguished prior to Police arrival.

Police attended a local establishment at approximately 10:00pm am to conduct a walkthrough of the business. Everything appeared to be in order. No violations were observed.

Saturday, June 23, 2018

At approximately 9:30pm Officers conducted a foot patrol in the downtown core. Everything appeared to be in order. No violations observed.

Officers on general patrol in an east end neighborhood observed a male known to Police who was breaching the conditions of his court order. The male was arrested and later released on a Promise to appear with a court date in August.

Police attended a residence located in the east end of Cobourg, after receiving a report of an after the fact break and enter into an outside storage shed. Nothing was noted to be missing. No suspects.

Sunday, June 24, 2018

At 1:36hrs Officers conducted a walk though of an east end business. Everything appeared to be in order.

Police attended a local business on King Street at approximately 5:00pm in response to an alarm. Investigation revealed that the alarm was false, with it being determined the alarm was accidently set off when an employee who was locking up for the evening.

At 6:00pm Officers responded to a residence in the area of the down town core after receiving a report of an unconscious female in the residence. The female was transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital for further medical assistance. As a result of Police Investigation one male was arrest for the offence of possession for the purpose of drug trafficking.
