Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision in Ajax

A 32-year-old male was critically injured after being struck by a car on Rossland Road West at Westney Road North in Ajax.

On Tuesday May 15, 2018 at approximately 9:29 p.m., officers from West Division were called to the scene for reports of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.  A Nissan Versa was eastbound on Rossland Road West at Westney Road North, when a male pedestrian appeared in the roadway and was struck.  Conditions at the time were reported to be clear and dark.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Lakeridge Health Ajax where he was pronounced deceased.  The driver of the Nissan Versa remained on scene and co-operated with police.

Members of the DRPS Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
