Two men from the GTA are facing charges including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking following a Wednesday night traffic stop in Peterborough.
On May 2, 2018 at approximately 9:30 p.m. an officer on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle driving in the area of Charlotte and Reid Streets. The officer conducted a traffic stop to investigate the driver’s driving actions. While speaking with the driver the officer noted a strong odour of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
Both the male driver and male passenger were subsequently placed under arrest for possession of marijuana. Through further investigation officers located and seized a quantity of Canadian currency and a cell phone. Both men were also found to be in possession of an amount of cocaine. The total amount of cocaine located and seized was approximately 24.9g.
As a result of the investigation the following persons were arrested and charged:
Jevaughn Knight-Allen, 22, of Westacott Crescent, Ajax, is charged with the following:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession of a schedule II substance (Marijuana under 30g)
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 31, 2018.
Dondre Hibbert, 21, of Pickering Parkway, Pickering, is charged with the following:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession of a schedule II substance (Marijuana under 30grams)
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 24, 2018.
