Domestic assault/break and enter:
A 30-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges including assault and break and enter following a weekend domestic incident.

On March 18, 2018 at approximately 2 a.m. the accused attended the male victim’s residence where, after being refused entry, the accused damaged the front door and gained entry into the apartment.

Once inside the accused assaulted the victim and damaged his property. A concerned neighbour called police and officers attended.

As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged with domestic assault, break and enter and mischief under $5,000.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 12, 2018.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.

 

Domestic assault Arrest:

Following an investigation the Peterborough Police Service has arrested and charged a 35-year-old man with domestic assault.

On the morning of March 16, 2018 the accused and female victim became involved in an argument at their Peterborough residence. During the argument it was reported that the accused assaulted the victim. Police were contacted and officers attended.

As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged with domestic assault.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 5, 2018.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.

 

Assault with a weapon Arrest:

A 21-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges including assault with a weapon and uttering threats following a Saturday night incident.

On March 17, 2018 at approximately 9:10 p.m. a staff member at a George Street North nightclub approached the accused who was reported to be in front of the bar attempting to solicit money from patrons. When the accused was asked to leave the area it was reported that the accused brandished a knife and threatened the staff member.

Police were called and officers attended. A short time later officers located the accused walking in the area of Charlotte Street.As a result of the investigation Charles William Polson, 21, of Murray Street, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Fail to comply with a probation order X2
  • Fail to comply with a recognizance X2

The accused was held in custody and appeared in weekend and statutory holiday court on March 18, 2018.
