Trespass at night/break and enter Arrest:

A 24-year-old Peterborough man has been arrested and charged following an investigation into break-ins at a multi-residence on Stewart Street.

On March 12, 2018 at approximately 12:40 a.m. police received a call for service regarding a suspicious man in the area of Stewart Street attempting to break into apartments. Officers attended and saw a male matching the description who was attempting to enter one of the units.

As a result of the investigation the male was placed under arrest. During the investigation the male was found to be in possession of stolen property. The male was also connected to a mischief where a screen at one of the units had been ripped off a window.

Ryan Joseph Comeau, 24, of Wolfe Street, Peterborough, is charged with the following:

  • Trespassing at night
  • Break and enter
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later today (March 12).

 

Assault with a weapon Arrest:

A Peterborough teen has been charged with assault with a weapon following a weekend dispute with his father.

On the night of March 9, 2018 police were dispatched to a Peterborough residence for a family dispute. It was reported to police that during the argument the accused, a 16-year-old male, had struck the victim, his father, in the face with a sock containing batteries.

As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, fail to comply with a recognizance and fail to comply with a sentence.

The accused appeared in weekend and statutory holiday court on March 10, 2018.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act the name of a young person cannot be released.

 

Assault Arrest:

The Peterborough Police Service has made an arrest following a late February assault.

On February 23, 2018 the accused and the female victim became involved in an altercation outside a Peterborough residence. The accused and victim do not know each other. During the altercation it was reported that the accused punched and slapped the victim in the face.

Through the investigation the female suspect was identified. On March 11, 2018 officers attended a Peterborough residence where, as a result of the investigation, the accused was placed under arrest.

Crystal Carol Kyle, 28, of Chemong Road, is charged with assault.The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 5, 2018.

 

Assault Peace Officer Arrest:

A 23-year-old Mississauga resident has been charged with assaulting a police officer following a weekend incident.

At approximately 1:40 a.m. on March 10, 2018 police received a call for service regarding an unwanted and intoxicated patron at a Charlotte Street bar.

Officers attended and located the patron. After numerous negative attempts at calming the patron and advising the patron to leave the premises as requested by staff at the establishment, the patron was arrested under the Liquor Licence Act with public intoxication. The person was transported to the police station and while at the police station the person struck an officer.

Lovelyn Mariki, 23, of Brandon Gate, Mississauga, is charged with assault a peace officer.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 29, 2018.

 

Public Assistance:

The Peterborough Police Service is asking witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a Friday night motor vehicle collision.

The collision took place at George and Lansdowne Streets on March 9, 2018 at approximately 7:15 p.m.
