Cobourg Police – Driver Charged After Cyclist Struck

A cyclist was taken to hospital after a collision on Friday, September 25, 2020.

Emergency services were notified of a collision between a car and bicycle on King Street West at Tremaine Street at approximately 6:15 p.m.

A westbound vehicle was turning left onto Tremaine Street when the vehicle struck a bicycle heading east on King Street.

The rider, a woman in her 20’s was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The area was cordoned off for approximately one hour.

The driver of the vehicle was charged with turn not in safety under the Highway Traffic Act.
