Northumberland OPP – Charges Laid in Conspiracy Incident in Alderville

(ALDERVILLE, ON) – On the 31st of July 2020, at approximately 8:02 pm, members of the Northumberland detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person from Alderville First Nation with respect to an ongoing investigation that involved a conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

As a result of the investigation, a resident of Alderville First Nation has been arrested and charged with:

· Conspiracy to commit indictable offence, contrary to section 465(1(c) of the Criminal Code

The accused was held in custody for a Wash Court Hearing on Saturday July 31, 2020 and was subsequently released and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on October 7, 2020.

The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
