One Person Taken Away In Custody By OPP Child Exploitation Unit in Cobourg

One person was taken into custody in Cobourg on Thursday, May 7, 2020 by the OPP Child Exploitation Unit.

An OPP officer on scene confirmed the Child Exploitation Unit was conducting an investigation and took evidence from a residence.

Today’s Northumberland witnessed one person being taken away in handcuffs by OPP officers.

Today’s Northumberland has also learned the OPP Child Exploitation Unit was also at another residence in Cobourg on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.

Northumberland OPP Media Relations Officer Kim Johnston said she knew nothing about the Child Exploitation Unit being in Cobourg and did not look into the matter.

Today’s Northumberland will provide an update when it becomes available.
