City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Fatality on Farm North of Downyville

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a death that occurred on a private property north of Downeyville last evening.

On October 5, 2023 shortly before 6:30 pm officers along with EMS were called to a farm off of Sturgeon Road for an accident involving a tractor which had rolled onto someone. A 99 year-old male of Emily Township who had been working on the tractor at the time of the incident, was transported to hospital where he was p ronounced deceased.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Collision Reconstructionists were brought in to investigate and document the scene
