City of Kawartha Lakes Police – Male Attends Halloween Party Carrying a Firearm

On October 30, 2021 at 10:28pm were called after a confrontation occurred at a Queen Street address in Lindsay.

It was reported that a male attending a Halloween party was carrying a firearm as part of his costume.

The same male, was believed to have stolen property from the residence and left. When called and confronted the male returned to the residence when a confrontation occurred.

The male began yelling and waving the firearm around, at which point the police were called and the male left the area in a vehicle.

Police located the vehicle in a parking lot at Cambridge Street and Peel Street.

As a result of an investigation, 26-year-old Christian Reinhart of North Kawartha Twp is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failure to comply with undertaking, obstruct peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and two Highway Traffic Act offence.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on December 9, 2021.
