Video – Northumberland OPP – North York Man Facing HTA Charges for Driving Wrong Way on Highway 401

A North York man is facing Highway Traffic Act charges for driving the wrong way on Highway 401 over the weekend.

On March 31, 2024, at approximately 6:50 p.m., the Northumberland OPP received a report of a vehicle driving westbound in the eastbound lanes on Highway 401.

The vehicle was located just past Theatre Road.

Paramedics attended the scene, but there were no injuries.

The 35-year-old driver from North York was charged with:

HTA 156(1)(a) Adult Drive wrong way – divided highway

HTA 182(2) Adult Disobey sign
