Town of Cobourg Confirms List of Certified Candidates for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election

The Town of Cobourg Legislative Services Division would like to inform all eligible electors that the final list of candidates for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections has been certified by the Municipal Clerk and Elections Returning Officer.
The certified list of candidates and all other information regarding the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election is available on the Town of Cobourg Municipal Elections website, CobourgVotes.ca.

2026 Municipal and School Board Election The 2026 Municipal and School Board Election will take place across all Ontario municipalities. The voting period will open on Friday, October 16, 2026, and close on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.

Voting in the Town of Cobourg will be internet voting, a secure and convenient way to vote anytime and from anywhere during the voting period. Prefer to vote in person? The Town of Cobourg will be hosting Voter Help Centres during the voting period.

Check You Are On the Voters List The Town of Cobourg wants to make sure that every eligible elector can cast their ballot. To verify your correct information is on the Voters List, contact 905-372-4301 ext. 9520 or email cobourgvotes@cobourg.ca.

If you need to be added to the list, please contact the Clerks Office, by visiting Victoria Hall (55 King Street West), from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays (excluding holidays).

Voter Instruction Letter Your Voter Instruction Letter will arrive to you in the mail approximately 7 to 14 days prior to the first voting day. This letter contains important information on the election process, including:

• Your Personal Identification Number (PIN)

• The web address to access the voting portal

• Other important information related to the election

In-Person Voter Help Centres The Town of Cobourg will be hosting Voter Help Centres during the voting period where residents may use a secure voting kiosk, with staff support available every step of the way. Remember to bring your PIN, provided in your Voter Instruction Letter.
If you haven’t received your Voter Instruction Letter by October 16, 2026, please visit Victoria Hall or a Voter Help Centre during their hours of operation with a piece of photo identification including proof of address to make sure you are registered to vote and to receive your PIN. Voter Help Centre locations and hours include:

Victoria Hall 55 King Street West, Cobourg | Old Bailey Courtroom October 16: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. October 19 to 25: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. October 26 (Election Day): 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Cobourg Public Library 200 Ontario Street October 19 to 23: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. October 26 (Election Day): 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Cobourg Community Centre 750 D’Arcy Street October 19 to 22: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. October 26 (Election Day): 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
