Sgt. Malcolm was killed in a single vehicle collision on Highway 401 just outside Cobourg on Monday, April 27, 2026.
The Town of Cobourg Community Services Division would like to advise residents and visitors that the Cobourg Community Centre (CCC) will be closed to the public from Monday, May 4 to Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 5 p.m.
All programs and activities during these dates have been cancelled or rescheduled where possible.
Registered user groups and activity members have been notified of the change.
Please note on Wednesday, May 6, access to the Cobourg Community Centre campus, including adjacent buildings, will be restricted.

Funeral Service for OPP Sergeant Brandon Malcolm A private funeral service for OPP Sergeant Brandon Malcolm will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cobourg Community Centre (750 D’Arcy Street). The service will not be open to the public. The OPP will be providing details on a livestream of the funeral service. Expressions of condolence may be shared at opp.ca/news.
Walking Track The CCC Walking Track is closed as of Sunday, May 3, until Wednesday, May 6, at 5 p.m.
Road Closures There will be rolling road closures and traffic delays on Wednesday, May 6, from approximately 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on D’Arcy Street, Division Street and surrounding roads.
Venture13 Please note that the parking lot at Venture13, 739 D’Arcy Street, will also be closed to the public on Wednesday, May 6, until approximately 5 p.m.
