Video – Photo Gallery – Fog Blankets Cobourg Lakeshore on Quiet Spring Morning

April 15, 2025 Foggy Morning in Cobourg

Foggy weather quietly consumed the area around Cobourg on Wednesday morning, April 15, 2026.

A thick blanket of mist rolled in off Lake Ontario, softening the shoreline and swallowing the familiar outlines of the pier and harbour. With little sunshine and days of steady rain behind it, the lingering fog felt like the latest turn in what has been an unsettled and shifting spring.

Along the lakeshore, the usual rhythm of the morning carried on — just more quietly for the most part. A handful of early risers moved through the haze, some out for a jog, others taking a slow walk along the pier, their silhouettes fading in and out of view and a personal watercraft coming in and out of sight.

At times, there seemed to be more dogs than people. Some bounded freely across the damp sand, while others stayed close to their owners, their shapes emerging suddenly from the fog before disappearing again just as quickly.

Near the water’s edge, a message etched into the sand stood out — a brief, heartfelt note left behind by someone passing through. But like everything else that morning, it felt temporary. With the tide and the mist closing in, whatever story it carried was already beginning to fade.
