Director of Education for PVNC Issues Statement Regarding Historic Sexual Assault Charges of Former Teacher by Cobourg Police

The Director of Education and Secretary/Treasurer for the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington (PVNC) Catholic District School Board has issued a released following the charges against a former elementary school teacher in Cobourg.

“We are aware of the charges laid in connection with a historical sexual assault investigation involving a former teacher at St. Michael Catholic Elementary School in Cobourg,” said Director of Education Stephen O’Sullivan.

“We cannot comment on the specifics of the matter as it is before the courts.”

“While we understand this news may be upsetting to members of the community, PVNC Catholic is fully cooperating with the Cobourg Police Service and is providing support to the school community as appropriate.”
