Community Care Northumberland Invites Community to Give $100 of Care on GivingTuesday
December 2, 2025 marks GivingTuesday, the world’s largest generosity movement, a global day dedicated to celebrating giving and supporting meaningful causes. This year, Community Care Northumberland (CCN) is inviting the community to participate by donating $100 of Care to support vital programs that help neighbours across the county thrive.
“GivingTuesday reminds us that everyone can contribute to making a positive impact in our community,” said Trish Baird, CEO of Community Care Northumberland. “A gift of $100 of Care goes a long way but even helping us spread the word or supporting neighbours in other ways makes a real difference. We are thankful for every act of generosity.”
Every $100 donation can make an incredible impact, including:
Offering 7 local rides to essential medical appointments
Delivering 10 Hot Meals on Wheels
Providing 2 Home Help visits
Covering the installation and 3 months of monitoring for a Personal Distress Alarm
Supporting compassionate end-of-life care at Ed’s House
Donations like $100 of Care don’t just provide immediate support – they help community members maintain independence and access essential services every day. One of the most critical ways CCN does this is through Transportation Services, which ensure seniors, adults living with disabilities, and those recovering from illness or injury can safely reach the care they need especially during the busy holiday season. In 2024 alone, CCN’s Transportation Services completed 33,576 essential drives, helping 1,463 clients access appointments reliably.
For neighbours like Marilyn, who face ongoing health challenges, these rides provide independence, dignity, and peace of mind. She says, “I am able to get to my appointments, and my driver is very patient and wonderful. I would be lost without you.”
Every act of support – whether it’s a donation of $20, $50, $100 or more, volunteering your time, or helping spread the word – strengthens the support, services, and connections that CCN provides.
