The Iron Fist Veterans of Canada organization is honored to announce its stewardship of the former “Heroes Highway Ride” (HHR), a cherished event dedicated to honoring and supporting veterans and active-duty service members. Under new leadership, this iconic ride will continue in 2025 with a fresh identity, now known as the Honour Roll.

This rebranding of the ride reflects a renewed commitment to recognizing and celebrating the sacrifices and bravery of those who serve. The Iron Fist Veterans are dedicated to preserving the ride’s traditions while enhancing the experience for participants and supporters alike, creating a meaningful and memorable event that continues to uphold the legacy of the original Heroes Highway Ride.

The Heroes Highway Ride & Rally started in 2009 to 2024, grew into Canada’s largest premier “Support Our Troops” event, uniting communities in patriotic support and raising awareness of the contributions and sacrifices of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members and their families.

On June 1, 2024, the Heroes Highway Ride (HHR) held its final ride ending in Port Hope.

Soon after the torch was passed to the Honour Roll.

The Iron Fist Veterans are proud to support the Homes for Heroes Foundation as their chosen charity.

This incredible organization is dedicated to ending homelessness among Canadian military veterans by providing transitional housing and vital support services to help veterans reintegrate into communities across Canada.

With the mission of ensuring every homeless veteran has a place to call home, Homes for Heroes Foundation addresses the unique challenges veterans face after service, offering a pathway toward stability, independence, and a brighter future. The Iron Fist Veterans are honored to champion this cause, supporting Homes for Heroes in their goal to eliminate homelessness among Canada’s military veterans.

Approximately 1,000 riders passed through Port Hope along the Highway of Heroes (Highway 401) on their way to Oshawa.

Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 30 in Port Hope including the Colour Guard stood at the Cranberry Road overpass while the riders passed.

Vincent O’Hanley who is a veteran and Sergeant at Arms for Branch 30 has only lived in the community for a short period of time and it’s his first trip to an overpass to watch a motorcycle ride in honour of veterans.

“It was a pleasure to see the support that our Canadian citizens give to our military. There is not enough of it in this country. We have our troops that are out there and do whatever we are called out to do and most people in Canada really don’t understand what it is.”

O’Hanley served in Bosnia, Lebannon, Golan Heights and Gaza and said there was never anything like the Highway of Heroes.

“Having that now is wonderful to allow people to understand that we have people out there that truly believe in their country and they will die for it. And to see the support from the Highway of Heroes standing out there, waving the flag – that’s what we need in our country.”
