Video – Demonstration of Security Barriers at DBIA Event in Cobourg
A demonstration of security barriers took place in downtown Cobourg at the Cinco De Mayo Celebrations.
Barriers were placed on King Street at Division Street and Spring Streets for the DBIA event.
Kara Euale, Communications Manager for the Town of Cobourg said, “ensuring public safety is always a top priority when Town of Cobourg staff are permitting community events. Staff proactively look for applications and policy best practices that can be applied in Cobourg.”
Staff have arranged for a demonstration of barriers from Mifram Security. Mifram provides mitigation solutions to stop hostile vehicles from entering public spaces. The Town of Cobourg Roads department has also deployed water based barriers at various locations.
This is a valuable educational opportunity for staff to see a variety of barrier types in place and assess what works best for our needs. Town staff will then consult with community partners to discuss feedback and the use of products such as this in our future event planning.
