Belleville – Elgin Park Playground Meeting
A virtual public meeting will be held on May 8 at 7 p.m. to get feedback from residents on the Elgin Park playground design.
Elgin Park is located at the corner of Sidney Street and Moira Street West. The previous playground at the park was removed over a decade ago. The park was identified as a gap in the Parkland and Recreation Master Plan in 2022 and construction of a new playground was approved during 2025 capital budget considerations last October.
An online survey ran from Jan. 15 to Feb. 9 to determine what elements the community would like to see in the playground. The survey received 257 responses which were reviewed by staff and used to develop the Request for Proposal for the design of the playground.
During the May 8 meeting, the top playground designs will be presented to attendees. Participants will then have the opportunity to vote for their preferred option through a poll.
Residents interested in participating must register online for the meeting before May 6 at 10 a.m. An email will be sent out in advance of the meeting providing registrants with the login details. Those who require accessibility supports to participate are asked to note them on the registration form or contact communications@belleville.ca so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
