Video – Animals Take Over the Streets of Castleton in the Annual Santa Claus Pet Parade
The ninth annual Castleton Santa Claus Pet Parade took place on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
The event was the brainchild of Delia Leggett who started it in 2015 with approximately a dozen dogs in the parade.
In 2016 that number was doubled and it’s grown every year since.
This year there were approximately 97 dogs, 12 horses, three sheep, 11 goats, three cats and one rooster.
The parade route went through the streets of Castleton with people along the sides of the road watching the parade of animals, and of course Santa.
There is no cost to enter the parade, but all donations collected this year go to Ruff Start New Beginnings.
The committee now consists of Laura Berman, Ingrid Schumacher, Michelle White, Brenda Rolfe and Kristin Dingman-Price.
