The Toronto Santa Claus Parade kicked off the Christmas season in Toronto on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
The parade has been going on in Toronto since 1905 and has grown in popularity and importance throughout the years. The Parade brings people together, regardless of their background, celebrating hope, family and love. It’s part of the fabric of our community.
An estimated 700,000 people watched the parade while floats, marching bands and celebrity clowns.
The idea of including Celebrity Clowns in the Santa Claus Parade began in 1982 when Parade co-chairman Ron Barbaro and Parade director Norman Jewison walked the Parade wearing make-up and clown costumes. They had so much fun that the following year they recruited 18 corporate executives and adopted the Celebrity Clown moniker. Celebrity Clowns became an integral part of the Santa Claus Parade that continues to this day.
To participate as an adult celebrity clown in the parade it is $,1200 for a junior clown it was $550.00
