The Northumberland-Peterborough South Provincial Liberal Association proudly announces that they have chosen Dorothy Noronha as the new Provincial Liberal Candidate for the Riding of Northumberland-Peterborough South.
At a recent event at the Best Western Cobourg in front of a packed and enthusiastic crowd of supporters, Ms. Noronha was honored to be the next Provincial Liberal Candidate.
Noronha is a long time resident of Alnwick/Haldimand, and has a long history in business, entrepreneurship and teaching, and is a passionate advocate for rural community opportunities.
“With the nomination of our candidate, Dorothy Noronha, we start on a path towards the next Provincial election”, said Kathleen Mann-Harper, President of the Northumberland Peterborough South Provincial Liberal Association. “With Dorothy as our candidate in Northumberland Peterborough South, we have somebody who hears and understands the needs of our local constituents and will help ensure that the priorities of our local community are heard loud and clear.”
“It is my honour and privilege to accept the nomination to represent this great riding in the next election. We have seen under Doug Ford a decay in our healthcare and erosion in our classrooms, and over 20 000 people in our riding without a local family doctor. Owning a home, or even renting one, is a dream for many of our children. Many of our seniors struggle in silence to make ends meet every day. The list of failures and broken promises by his government goes on and on. I have already heard numerous times at the doors…Enough is enough.” Stated Noronha
“We don’t need Doug Ford’s $55 billion dollar ($1 billion a kilometre) “Taj Mahal Tunnel” under the 401 scheme to shave a few extra minutes off the drive for those who live in the GTA, when 1 million Ontarians are forced to use food banks. We face a crisis in healthcare funding, nurse retention and provincial downloading. I want to be a part of creating a real lasting plan to increase both home affordability and home availability. We need a plan that provides dynamic opportunities for rural Ontario. I want to see local entrepreneurs, farmers and small business owners getting real support. I want to see our municipal partners treated just like that — as partners rather than pawns,” said Noronha.
“There is a way, a better way to lead this province to its best potential for everyone. I’m proud to be part of Provincial Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie’s team of candidates who come from all walks of life and backgrounds that represent the very best Ontario has to offer: outstanding individuals with dynamic skill sets, who will bring these talents to bear every day for the people they will represent,” said Dorothy Noronha, Provincial Liberal Candidate Northumberland-Peterborough South.
