Municipality of Port Hope Appoints New Director of Environmental Services
The Municipality of Port Hope is pleased to announce the appointment of Kyle Beacock, a seasoned leader in municipal management, as the new Director of Environmental Services. Mr. Beacock will oversee the Environmental Services Department, which includes the Water, Wastewater, and Environmental Remediation divisions. With over 15 years of experience managing Water and Wastewater Departments in Northern and Eastern Ontario, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this vital role.
Mr. Beacock holds an Environmental Technician diploma from Sir Sandford Fleming College and various certifications, including Class 4 Wastewater Treatment, Class 2 Wastewater Collection, Class 3 Water Treatment, Class 3 Water Distribution, and CFMA Asset Management Training. Additionally, he has more than ten years of senior municipal management experience, including in senior management roles within unionized environments.

In his previous roles, Mr. Beacock was responsible for coordinating and managing significant capital projects, including the expansion of water treatment facilities, the construction of a new treated water standpipe, the extension of major watermain sections, the drilling of new production wells, and upgrades to sanitary pump stations, all while maintaining strict adherence to budgets and timelines.
“Mr. Beacock’s extensive background in municipal management and proven track record of successfully leading complex projects make him an exceptional fit for this position,” said Candice White, Chief Administrative Officer of the Municipality of Port Hope. “We are confident that he will continue to drive forward innovative solutions and enhancements with a focus on customer service for our water, wastewater, and environmental remediation operations.
The newly formed Environmental Services Department is the result of an organizational change announced earlier this year, and encompasses the existing Water, Wastewater and Environmental Remediation divisions. The department will also include the hiring of a resident liaison position, and both the director and liaison positions are funded in part by Canadian Nuclear Laboratories.
The Municipality of Port Hope looks forward to the leadership and vision that Mr. Beacock will bring to the department as we continue to prioritize sustainable practices, community experience and improve our community’s infrastructure.
