Annual Hike, Bike, and Bark for Hospice Returns in Cobourg’s Victoria Park

Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre Foundation and Community Care Northumberland’s Annual Hike, Bike, and Bark for Hospice Returns!

Mark your calendars! Hike, Bike, and Bark for Hospice returns September 29th, 2024, at Victoria Park in Cobourg. Registration opens THIS Tuesday August 6th, 2024, featuring a new, user-friendly website designed to enhance the participant experience.

This event designed to bring our community together to celebrate, remember and raise funds for the Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre Foundation.

The Foundation’s purpose is to raise funds to support the operation of Community Care Northumberland’s hospice service programs in our community including the Palliative Care Community Team and Volunteer Hospice Visiting program which operate alongside the 24/7 end-of-life care provided at Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre. As you may know, Ed’s House has recently undergone a significant expansion, increasing our capacity from a 6-bed to a 10-bed hospice.

This expansion allows us to extend our compassionate care to more individuals and families in need during one of the most challenging times in their lives. Through the generosity of our community, our suite of services is offered at no charge to clients and their families.

For this year’s event, we are pleased to announce that a brand-new website has been created to easily facilitate event registration, information, communications, event promotional materials, resources and showcase for sponsors. Click www.hikebikebarkforhospice.ca .

The new website offers a streamlined registration process. Participants can easily sign up as an individual, team, or join an existing team. Participants will be able to track their donations, monitor team progress, and download social media graphics to help spread the word. Each individual and team will have their own dashboard to manage their involvement and track their efforts.

“As we get ready for this year’s Hike, Bike, and Bark, I want to extend a big thank you to everyone who has helped make this event possible,” said Trish Baird, CEO, Community Care Northumberland. “We hope everyone will join us and help support the Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre Foundation. Your participation and support are vital in continuing our important work.”

Registration is $30 per person and includes an official event t-shirt and race kit. Youth aged 13-18 can join for just $15, kids under 12, and furry friends can participate at no cost. Details on the race kit pickup, will be announced soon.
