Two-Day Hearing Set for Peace Bond Cobourg Mayor Brings Against Individual

A court case the Mayor of Cobourg has brought forward seeking a Peace Bond against an individual is going to a hearing.

On Wednesday, July 24, 2024 Cobourg Mayor Lucas Cleveland and Robert Horgan appeared before Justice of the Peace Joni Glover.

Horgan asked Justice of the Peace Glover to bar Today’s Northumberland from covering the case stating he would be calling Today’s Northumberland (Pete Fisher) as a witness.

Justice Glover stated to Horgan that it is a public courtroom, but Horgan would be able to make that application prior to the starting of the hearing.

Cleveland estimated it would take approximately 1.5 hours for his witnesses to testify at the hearing.

Horgan estimated the eight to 10 non-profit organizations and individuals he would be calling as witnesses would take approximately two to three days.

The first day of the hearing is set for Friday, September 13 at 9 a.m. and Monday, September 16 at 9 a.m. in Cobourg Court.
