Belleville Police – Residential Fire Remains Under Investigation

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 87 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on July 17, 2024 to 5:00 am on July 18, 2024.

Residential fire remains under investigation
On the 17th of July at 7:36pm, Belleville Police and Belleville Fire responded to a multi-unit residence on Coleman St. where the upper unit was fully engulfed in fire. Belleville Fire safely evacuated all of the units within the building. There were no reported injuries. Belleville Fire Prevention Officers attended the scene. The fire remains under investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office with assistance from the Belleville Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Investigative Services. Belleville Police remain on-scene maintaining scene continuity. Anyone with information regarding the fire is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service or Quinte Crimes Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
