Update – Northumberland OPP – Police Also Investigating Cause of House Fire

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are now investigating a fire at a residence in Hamilton Township.

On June 22, 2024, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Hamilton Township Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services and OPP responded to a report of a residential fire on Leach Road in Hamilton Township.

The structure sustained substantial damage and police can confirm that nobody was injured as a result. The Ontario Fire Marshall (OFM) is continuing with their investigation and as a result of their initial findings, the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit are also investigating the incident.

On Tuesday, June 25, 2024 five members of the Office of the Fire Marshal were on scene investigating with police.

Officers will continue to hold the scene for the ongoing investigation. Updates will be provided when available.
