The Municipality of Port Hope is proud to announce the Lions Club of Port Hope as the inaugural room sponsor for the Town Park Recreation Centre Expansion. This significant milestone was celebrated this morning, with members of Council, staff, and the Lions Club of Port Hope in attendance.
“Your commitment to our community truly embodies the spirit of ‘It takes a village,’ noted Councillor Adam Pearson, who spoke on behalf of Council for the Municipality. “With your help, we have built more than just a structure; we are creating a place for connection, learning, and health.”
Councillor Pearson further emphasized the importance of the Lions Club being the first to sponsor a room for the expansion: “I am especially delighted to highlight that the Lions Club is the first to come on board with a sponsorship. Your leadership and vision set a powerful example for others to follow.”
Present at the event was Lions Club President Eric Thompson, who remarked, “We are honored to support the expansion of the Town Park Recreation Centre. This project is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community and support our older adults. The new Seniors Lounge and Servery will be a vital resource, enhancing the health, wellness, and social inclusion of Port Hope’s 55+ residents.”
This announcement coincides with the celebration of Seniors Month and the 2024 theme of “Working for Seniors,” acknowledging the invaluable contributions of seniors in making Ontario a great place to live.
