Fatal Fire in Cramahe Township

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fire at a residence in the Township of Cramahe.

On May 5, 2024, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Northumberland OPP, Cramahe Township Fire Services, and Northumberland Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a residential fire in the Township of Cramahe. As a result, an 85-year-old male from Cramahe was located deceased in the residence.

At this time, the fire is believed to be non-suspicious.

The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit in conjunction with OPP Forensic Identification Services (IDENT), the Office of the Fire Marshall (OFM) and the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario are continuing to investigate the incident.

Officers will continue to hold the scene for the ongoing investigation. Updates will be provided when available.
