Nawautin Sanctuary Busy with Activity

Nawautin Sanctuary was a busy play on Friday, April 26, 2024 south of Grafton.

The swans have once again nested and are awaiting for their cygnets.

Cygnets take about 35-42 days to hatch. With the female swan turning the eggs with her bill.

A chipmunk keeps a watchful eye out from the safety of the woods.

A family of geese including three goslings (no relation to Ryan) ventured out of their nest and headed to Lake Ontario. What seemed like ease for the parents proved a bit more of a challenge getting out into the water even with small waves..

Goslings take about a month to hatch and leave the nest within 24-hours.

And the turtles are just taking it easy enjoying the sun.
