No Plans to Replace Bus Shelter from King Street in Cobourg

Removing Bus Shelter Cobourg January 2, 2024

Public Works dismantled the bus shelter on King Street East at College Street on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

The shelter had it’s front glass broken recently by possibly a pellet or small marble type object.

At least three other bus shelters have been damaged over the past several weeks.

The shelter on King Street is also commonly used by homeless people during the day and especially at night.

One person stated to Today’s Northumberland that The Warming Hub does not allow people to smoke on their property so they commonly use/d the bus shelter.

Parts from the bus shelter on King Street will be used to repair the other damaged shelters. At present, there are no plans to replace the bus shelter on King Street.
