Busy Times at Cobourg Encampment
A number of workers were at the encampment at the former Brookside Youth Centre on Monday, October 2, 2023.
One of the workers was installing “No Trespassing” signs at various locations on the Brookside property including on the fencing that surrounds the perimeter of the secure facility.
Two others were wearing gloves and coveralls cleaning up garbage from around the area of the encampment. The workers were accompanied by two Cobourg Police officers who were on paid duty with the bill going to the Province of Ontario.
Supporters of the encampment were also spotted bringing water to the encampment.
Today’s Northumberland has reached out to Infrastructure Ontario for comment.
