Update – Cobourg Police – Charges Laid in Stabbing Investigation
A 43-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges in an investigation of an alleged stabbing in the Town of Cobourg Monday morning.
On Monday, July 24, 2023, at 6:00 a.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Major Street near University Avenue in the Town of Cobourg.
A 39-year-old man was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
As a result of the police investigation, Brad Johnson (43) of Cobourg has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and four counts of utter threats to cause death or bodily harm.
The accused was remanded into custody with a scheduled court date on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
This investigation is ongoing. Police will remain on scene at a residence on Major Street near University Avenue and a second location on Division Street near University Avenue until the investigation concludes.
There is no concern for public safety at this time.
