Ganaraska Forest Set to Open May 1, 2023

The Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority (GRCA) is set to open Ganaraska Forest trails to all non-motorized and motorized uses, with a valid membership or day pass, on Monday, May 1st
, 2023. Until then, hiking and hunting can occur in designated areas of the Forest.

“The Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority is happy to welcome users back into the Ganaraska Forest,” said GRCA Chair Mark Lovshin. “Damage to trails from the derecho windstorm have been addressed by staff, contractors and volunteers.”

To facilitate ease of navigation, the GRCA has developed an interactive, web-based Ganaraska Forest mapping system to view and download at: https://www.grca.on.ca/content/ganaraska-forest-recreation-trails. Forest users can find their location in the Forest by using the locator tool and the web-based map will display any trail restrictions or closures instantly. Forest users are to remain on trails and adhere to trail restrictions as displayed on this web-based map.

Day Passes continue to be sold at the Gatehouse Kiosk at the Ganaraska Forest Centre. Online purchases of Day Passes and Memberships will also be available at: https://store.ganaraskaconservation.ca/.

Membership purchases made between June 1, 2021 and May 21, 2022 have received a one-year extension. If you have not received your extension or require assistance, please contact the GRCA
during office hours (Mon.–Fri. from 8:30 am–4:30 pm).

As a reminder to all users, please remain on mapped trails, respect trail restrictions, carry your day pass or membership with you and ensure you have the proper documentation with you and affixed to your motorized recreational vehicles.
