Thousands Pack the Streets of Port Hope for Santa
Thousands of believers to Port Hope on Saturday, November 26, 2022 saw a magnificent Santa Claus parade culminating in the arrival of the guest of honour.
The weather was nearly perfect as the winds seem to recede (somewhat) as the parade began at 1 p.m. starting at the top of Walton Street and ending on Queen Street by the town hall.
Close to 50 floats were entered in the parade, numerous bands and hundreds of participants.
The overall theme of the parade seemed to be “happiness” as everywhere you looked from participants to spectators everyone was wishing others a “Merry Christmas.”
Today’s Northumberland spoke was Santa after the parade just before he headed back to the North Pole.
“The parade in Port Hope was wonderful. Lots and lots of people.”
Santa’s favourite part was seeing all the smiling children’s (and parents) faces and waving as the parade made its way through Port Hope.
