Cobourg Police Service will host event to welcome National Peace Officers’ Memorial Run and pay tribute to fallen officers
A short ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 22, at Chris Garrett Memorial Park.
On Thursday, September 22, 2022, Cobourg Police Service will welcome the National Peace Officers’ Memorial Run to Cobourg. A short ceremony will take place at Chris Garrett Memorial
Park starting at about 6:30 p.m. to pay tribute to officers from across Canada who died in the line of duty.
The community is invited to join the event and cheer on the runners as they finish the first part of the run and honour Canada’s fallen officers.

Runners route to park: Elgin Street East to Birchwood Trail to Chris Garrett Park
• 6:30 to 6:45 p.m. Runners arrive at Chris Garrett Park
• 6:45 p.m. Ceremony begins.

About the National Peach Officers’ Memorial Run
The National Peace Officers’ Memorial Run was established in 2005 to raise awareness of the Canadian Police and Peace Officer’s Memorial held annually on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. The ‘Run to Remember’ is a 460 km relay that makes its way through many communities between the start at the Ontario Police Memorial site in Toronto to the end at the National Memorial on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. This year the 45th Annual Memorial Service takes place on Sunday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m.
