Show and Shine for Spencer Devine Raises Awareness for Mental Illness

Spencer Devine Show and Shine Port Hope September 17, 2022

The first annual “Show and Shine for Spencer Devine in support of mental health awareness was held in Port Hope on Saturday, September 17, 2022.

Spencer Devine took his life at the age of 34–years-old on September 15, 2021 by jumping from a railway bridge in Port Hope.

His mother, Liz Jeffries Bradley, along with Spencer’s brother Chase and friends held the event to raise awareness about mental health.

“We want to get the message out that there is support and there are resources.”

“Mental health is not like a broken leg – you can see it. It’s visible. Mental health is not visible usually.”

Along with a car show, there were a number of photos up for auction. Devine was a brilliant photographer and storm chaser.

MPP David Piccini also attended the event and took part in the walk.

All funds raised go to Northumberland Hills Hospital.
