In honor of April’s National Volunteer Month, Post Consumer Brands is launching a new companywide initiative called “Ingredients for Good” that is focused on giving back to its communities. Through food and monetary donations or hands-on volunteer projects, each of the 12 locations across the U.S. and Canada where Post Consumer Brands operates will be undertaking projects to show their support for individuals and families in their communities.

As a company, Post Consumer Brands takes pride in its local communities and supports them by giving back through food donations, philanthropic activities and volunteering.
Throughout the month of April, Post Consumer Brands Cobourg employees raised money and collected donations of toiletries, hygiene products and food for two local women’s shelters – Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre and The Denise House/Sedna Women’s Shelter and Support Services Inc.
Janelle Eisler Manager of Community Engagement with Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre said when she entered Post Consumer Brands on Friday, April 28, 2022 said she was “overwhelmed” when she saw the “amazing items from our wish list.”
“We had no idea what to expect. To say we were overwhelmed is probably an understatement. This is an incredible donation made by our community members that work here at Post.”

Plant Manager at Post in Cobourg, Craig Byers said he can’t say enough about the employees at the Cobourg plant.
“Our employees have been very active in the community for the past six months as part of our initiative, “Ingredients for Good.”
“We looked at other areas, not just in Food Banks, but we looked at things like The Denise House and Cornerstone here in the community to help give back to those who are in desperate need. Especially those who are transitioning through a very traumatic situation.”
Post Consumer Brands employs 195 people at its Cobourg facility, which opened in 1979. Today, the facility produces approximately 26 million pounds of cereal each year, which equates to about 300 million bowls that are enjoyed by families across the country for breakfast every day. Among the cereal brands produced in Cobourg are Weetabix®, Alpen® Muesli, Puffins® and MOM’s Best®. As a leading producer of natural, organic, non-GMO and gluten-free cereals, the facility holds a number of third-party certifications, including Organic Certification from Quality Assurance International (QAI), Kosher Certification from The Orthodox Union (OU) and the Kashruth Council of Canada (COR), and Non-GMO Project Verified certification.
