Ginny & Georgia Return to Cobourg for Second Season

Netflix Series Flimed in Cobourg February 24, 2022

Downtown Cobourg was turned into New England town for the first episode of the second season of the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia.

The comedy-drama television series was released on Netflix on February 24, 2021 and in April 2021 it was renewed for a second season.

With some of the first season being filmed in Cobourg, it was a sure bet the production would be returning.

On Thursday, February 24, 2022 downtown Cobourg was turned into a Christmas setting in Wellsbury, Massachusetts.

The premise of the series is Georgia wants to settle down in a New England town with her 15-year-old daughter who is more mature than her 30-year-old mother.

Numerous people watched and took photos from the south side of King Street, west of George Street as Brianne Howey who plays Georgia Miller and Antonia Gentry who plays her 15-year-old daughter, Ginny Miller.

A crane used lighting equipment that lit up the area for the scene.

Numerous local background actors were also used.

A number of stores in downtown had facades put on them on the north side, and on the south side stores were used for the actors to keep warm until they were needed.

Both Howey (Georgia) and Gentry (Ginny were very gracious to fans waiting to snap a photo or get an autograph.

Town of Cobourg Community Events Coordinator Jackie Chapman Davis they ended the first season in Victoria Park, and the second season starts off in Victoria Park.

After filming took place in Victoria Park, cast and crew made their way to King Street for filming at Victoria Hall, then in the evening along King Street west of George Street.

“It’s been a lot of fun working with them again.”

“They’re really good to work with and the more they come, they get used to working in Cobourg with the businesses and community.”

What brought the series to Cobourg was Victoria Hall which opened in 1860 and has been declared a national historic site.

“It’s so grand and in the shots they use it for it really works well with the show.”

With Cobourg being one of the main places the series is filmed, Chapman Davis said it will certainly help tourism.
