Update – Quinte West OPP – Victims Identified in Fatal Collision in Trenton

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On Sunday October 3, 2021, at approximately 12:25 p.m. officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Old Highway 2, east of RCAF Road. The collision involved two motor vehicles, one travell ing east bound and one travelling west bound. The driver and passenger in the east bound vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. The lone driver of the west bound vehicle was transported to hospital with unknown injuries.

Rebecca BEATTY, 22 years old of Quinte West, and Anastasia COLLINS, 23 years old of Belleville, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

East Region OPP Technical Collision Investigators and OPP Collision Reconstructionists attended the scene. The road was closed for approximately 12 hours. The investigation is continuing at this time.
