Hydro Affected in Colborne Area As A Result of Collision
Emergency services responded to a single vehicle rollover in Colborne on Monday, July 19, 2021.
At approximately 6 p.m. emergency services responded to the area of Ontario Street, south of King Street West for a 2004 Dodge Ram, 1500 pickup truck that went into the ditch and struck a hydro pole before rolling over and striking a hydro fence.
Miraculously the driver walked away with only a minor injury to the arm.
The driver told Today’s Northumberland he was driving northbound on Ontario Street and lost control on the loose gravel.
“I didn’t even know what was happening.”
“I closed my eyes as soon as I went through the pole and when I opened my eyes I was right next to the power station.”
“The truck saved my life.”
The road was blocked off while the investigation took place and hydro crews arrived on scene.
Hydro One said an emergency planned power outage was scheduled for Tuesday July 20 from approximately 1:00am-1:30am. The outage is necessary for Hydro One to repair the damage to the lines caused by the earlier car accident.
